My wife fought RSD for many years, and trust me Ive seen it with my own eyes: if she were to knock over her pepsi while taking her meds, ONLY the oxycontins would end up on the floor in a puddle of pepsi. 4. My house burned down and I was able to get all of my meds out except for my Oxycontin.
I am new to some of this and had a few questions. I was in a wreck in 2006 and herniated my back. Since then ive been through therapy but the pain has been horrendous. My doctor since then has refilled my script for Lortab 7.5 every 30 days. I have to at least meet with him once a year which is fine. Once issue i have though is if my supply is only for 30 days and i have a really bad pain day and need two pills it hurts me for the rest of the month because i had to take from that day but they wont refill at the pharmacy till 1 day early. Also, during one month they put me on morphine 15mg. It worked 10 time better than the Lortab because i could take one pill and it would last for what seemed like forever. At this point i know refilling looks to be a lost cause for the morphine but i am open to suggestions. IT would just be nice to be able to take 1 pill and it just be one pill.
2. I opened myOpana bottle in the driveway, dropped it and the pills spilled everywhere. It was raining, and they melted, so I guess I need a new prescription.
3. I left the trunk open when I brought my groceries in. My prescriptions were in one of the bags and someone stole that bag out of my trunk. No, I don’t need any of my other meds, they were in a different bag.
Interesting to read this because I am in the pharmacy also often. I have Fibromyalgia but the most dibilitating part of it is the Hemicrania Continua that I have had for 6 years. That is a left-sided headpain that increases and decreases all day long with out any remittance. I do remember a time in which someone stole my meds out of my bag at the gym. The bag was not locked up as it should have been. But they didnt just steal the pain meds but the Topamax I was on at the time too. I look back on all the police reports that I had to go through and such to get that refilled and it was not easy. I guess some people need a pain management special to control their meds but then there are others out there that want to get a hold of them any way they can and are addicts. It has however been easy for me to have to have my dosage increased because of the tolerance level being so high after having to taking them on a daily basis......to a pharmacy that too would look like I am an addict.
10. I just found out two hours ago that I’m leaving unexpectedly for Mexico this afternoon and don’t know when I’ll be coming back. I’ll be in contact with you for refills of my other meds, butIneed … um … oh … let’ssay … 3–4 months of Oxycontin now.
Please understand that I take pain medication on adailybasis as well.Being a patient myself, I definitely see both sides of the coin, but some of the stories we hear on a daily basis are just too good not to share. So, I came up with of a listof the top tenmost creative reasons people have actually used in an attempt to get their meds before their prescriptions allowed.
(continuation from previous post) ....This post was written out of great frustration from the perspective of the doctors staff and the liability involved when people abuse the system. Each of the examples I posted were patients who had repeatedly taken advantage and had a new excuse month after month. All of the above patients were eventually sent to a pain management specialist, and it is my sincere desire that their pain is under control without trying to find a way to take 2-3, even 4 xs the max. dosage of very dangerous substances. Nothing scares me more that having uncontrollable pain, but I try to be up front and honest with my physican and address it in a responsible manner. I apologize again for any offense Ive caused. Believe me....I literally feel your pain!!!!!! :)
Some drs treated her like a patient, but plenty would treat her like a drug abuser. &heaven forbid if the dr upped her dosage.....the pharmacist thinks youre an abuser. Once that happened, when we got to the pharmacy, it was after 5, so the dr office was closed. The pharmacist refused to fill the script, and told me "if youd come in earlier I couldve called the dr to confirm this, but you purposely came in after hours when I cant contact the dr." Meds caused problems with her teeth, she had to have some crowns put on. Not realizing what the dentist had prescribed, she filled it... if she was dishonest, she wouldve filled it at a different pharmacy & not used the insurance card.... but shes honest, so she just gave the pharmacy the the dentist gave her: a script for antibiotics but also one for a few tylenol 3s-nothing compared to what she wasalready on, but enough for her pain dr to dismiss her & mark her file so shed have problems...not even one honest mistake allowed
8. I don’t care if both yours and the pharmacies records show it’s ten days early for my refill, one of you is lying.
